Tuition rates for current students are available through the Student Financial Services office. For students receiving tuition waivers it should be noted that these waivers cover the cost of tuition, leaving the cost of student fees (Facility Use, Parking, Building Fee, etc...) the responsibility of the student. Please contact David Beck at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information on student fees.
FSU Employees are eligible for a tuition scholarship that can cover tuition costs for up to 6 hours at FSU for any full time FSU employee in good academic standing. Please visit the Office of Human Resources website for more information.
Employees of the State of Florida are eligible to take up to 6 graduate level credit hours per semester on a space available basis. Individuals using the state tuition waiver must be fully admitted degree-seeking or non-degree seeking students. State employees using a tuition waiver must complete the registration process, and submit the tuition waiver to the Office of the University Registrar no later than the fifth day of classes. See the Office of the University Registrar's website for additional information, and to download the State Employee Tuition Waiver Form .
Graduate assistant stipend rates must be based on the minimum rate of $12.82 per hour.
So far as they are available, out-of-state tuition and matriculation fee waivers are reserved for full-time, degree-seeking graduate assistants and fellows. Graduate assistant and fellowship stipends are normally subject to federal income tax. All students receiving funding from the University (e.g. Fellowship or Assistantship) will be held to the stipulations put forward by the Council of Graduate Schools resolutions regarding accepting awards. Please view the attached document for the full resolution.
For the fifth time in Spring 2016 The Graduate School is offering a program that allows graduate students the opportunity to request a tuition waiver for one course outside of their home College that will contribute to their degree progress. This program is for any fully-admitted FSU Doctoral, Master’s, Specialist, or Professional students who are full-time and currently receiving a tuition waiver through an assistantship or fellowship in the Spring 2016 semester. Applicants must be in good academic standing, and the course requested must be outside of the student’s home College, must count towards the degree progress of the student, must be a course that is covered under general waiver guidelines (example: no X type courses), and must be offered and taken during the Spring 2016 semester.
Please note this program only covers the tuition waiver for a graduate level class, and the student is responsible for the associated fees. If a student is funded on a grant, local, or auxiliary project, this waiver must be for hours beyond the 9 charged to the grant (example: this must be for credits 10-12). Once the application is submitted, the student may not change the course or substitute another course for the one listed in the application.
C.W. Bill Young Veteran Tuition Waiver Program - This new state of Florida piece of legislation is effective as of July 1st, 2014. The C.W. Bill Young Veteran Tuition Waiver Program mandates that any Florida College System institutions must waive out-of-state fees for any honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces, U.S. Reserve Forces, or the National Guard who physically reside in the state while enrolled.
Waivers are canceled if the student withdraws from the University, drops below the required academic load, or terminates the assistantship. Waivers will not cover any dropped classes. The student will be responsible for any fees assessed.
Waiver coordinators can find more information on tuition waiver policies and procedures by visiting our Graduate School - Faculty/Staff Blackboard site and clicking on Funding & Awards. Blackboard log-in required.
