Inside Graduate Education
As a research university, graduate education is central to the mission of Florida State University. With more than 8,500 graduate and professional students FSU relies on colleges and departments to guide students on a day to day basis. To bring order to this wide range of programs general policies governing graduate education have been established by the Graduate Policy Committee.
The Dean of the Graduate School is charged with ensuring that these policies are adhered to on a campus-wide basis. Periodically policies and procedures must be modified to conform to changing needs within the university and society.
Herein you can find essential policy and procedural information pertaining to graduate education at FSU as well as links to the major initiatives that are being pursued by the FSU Graduate School in collaboration with national and international partners. From time to time the Dean of the Graduate School will share her thoughts on these issues and provide alerts on changes in policies and procedures.
The Graduate School is responsible for implementing graduate policies and for providing broad oversight of graduate education at the University.
